Clarence Dickinson
Clarence Dickinson Festival
A festival concert of organ and choral music written and arranged by the American organist and composer, Clarence Dickinson, who was active in a lengthy career as organist-choirmaster at Brick Presbyterian Church, New York City, founding director of the School of Sacred Music at Union Theological Seminary, and founding member of The American Guild of Organists.  This concert will feature a wide variety of music dating from the Sixteenth Century to the mid-1950s, all music re-discovered by, or written by, Dr. Dickinson, who was known as the “Dean of American Church Musicians.”   This concert is co-sponsored by William Carey College, which houses The Clarence Dickinson Library, Dr. Dickinson’s own personal library, from which music for this concert has been chosen.
